Rise 2 Work
(More Than A Job NC)
Eligibility Criteria: Food and Nutrition Services Recipients
Rise 2 Work provides job-driven, skills-based training that leads to meaningful employment for food stamps recipients. It is part of the voluntary NC Food and Nutrition Services Employment and Training Program (FNS E&T), intended to increase FNS recipients' skills, careers, and ultimately their families' financial well-being.
Unified Workforce Development
Eligibility Criteria: Mecklenburg County Residents who are experiencing multiple barriers to employment
Unified Workforce Development provides Mecklenburg County residents access to upward mobility and economic stability through integrated services and employment placement. With rapid employment, individualized support, and retention services, the UWFD social workers and job developer provide customers with wrap-around, customer directed services that addresses external and internal obstacles.
Empowering Fathers
Eligibility Criteria: Non-custodial parents with an open Mecklenburg County Child Support Services case
The program is available to both non-custodial fathers and mothers provides employment assistance, coaching, and training opportunities for non-custodial parents facing employment barriers. Additional services include parenting skills development, support for economic stability, mental health services, and more.
Work First
Eligibility Criteria: Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Recipients
Work First Family Assistance, also known as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), provides cash assistance to eligible families with minor children. This program operates on the premise that parents have a responsibility to support themselves and their children. It offers short-term cash assistance aimed at helping families achieve self-sufficiency. Participation in job readiness, short-term training, and employment assistance is mandatory for qualified recipients of the Work First Family Assistance program, with the goal of increasing family stability, skills, earnings, and financial well-being
